HD Benefits Derived from our DVD Features
Our HD encoders exhibit the same flexibility with respect to targetting different types of playback devices. Most of these features were added for DVD authors, but they come in quite handy when working in HD.

For instance, if you shoot on 1440x1080x2997i HDV, you can easily create at PAL-style 1280x720p master from your final cut. I recommend using Top-Field only de-interlacing, and our image processing pipeline will do the rest.

As well, if you have something shot on 720p 24fps and want to encode it for display on a 29.97i Plasma display, you can use the 2:3 pulldown flagging and simply encode at an effective frame rate of 24fps. In our samples section you will find a version of "The Least Likely", which originates on film/1080p/24fps which I encoded with 2:3 flagging at 29.97i CBR for ATSC HDTV style projects.
