Lately what I've been doing is helping customers and potential customers solve challenging encoding problems. Usually that's where the rubber meets the road, almost all encoders can do a pretty good job on most material. It's the tough sections of challenging content where the stress testing occurs. Sometimes I will try switching quant matrices, in other situations I have used custom GOP patterns in conjunction with using bandlimited semi-constant Q, but the results are always the same: when faced with material that other encoders cannot compress, an experienced operator with MegaPEG can always get the job done.
